Managing digital projects can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be. Whether you’re a project manager, designer, or developer, you use different processes, tools, and tactics to make things happen. You care about delivering quality—on time and under budget.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. But there are some tactics you can employ to manage your digital projects with success. Join us for this workshop and gain insights on how to best plan and manage digital projects.
Part One: Project Planning
You may think you have it all figured out as a Project Manager, until someone else shares an experience they’ve had or method they use that changes your perspective completely. We’ll spend part of the workshop on an interactive project planning exercise where we’ll sketch ideas based on a project scenario and discuss them with fellow attendees. Our discussion topics range from process and methodologies; to contract details and assumptions. The exercise will get you thinking about DPM as a practice, and how varied our roles, approaches, and assumptions can be.
Part Two: Project Scenarios
Projects are journeys. We’ll discuss the things that can cause project heartburn: identifying and understanding project stakeholders, moderating feedback, keeping clients happy, keeping teams engaged, and keeping budgets intact. We’ll share ideas, talk about our experiences, and discuss the various methods we use to deliver digital products.
