Jason Fox is a Professor of Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) where he has chaired the department for the past 5 years. During his time as department chair, the program has transitioned from one of simply making artifacts to a user-centered focus where context, content and media are paramount to today’s visual narratives.
Evidence of this shift is the 2016 release of the new, Graphic Design and Visual Experience graduate programs where the increasingly complex roles graphic designers are taking in creating today’s immersive, experience economy are valued through a curriculum that formally introduces contextual research and a heavy dose of data visualization for dynamically changing content as well as graphic design for the built environment.
Jason also co-developed SCAD’s recent B.F.A. in User Experience Design in partnership with Google. Most recently, Jason has been featured in Fast Co. magazine, and podcasts with True North, and the HOW Design Live.
Prior to joining SCAD as a faculty member, Jason was a creative director and illustrator in the dental industry working for clients such as Glaxosmithkline, Colgate Palmolive, Brasseler USA, Kavo America as well as the industry’s leading clinicians.
