Mariah Hay is the VP of product at Pluralsight, a fast-growing enterprise technology learning platform, and the 2017 winner of the Women Tech Council “Excellence in Product” award. In her role, Mariah leads six co-located product teams, and challenges and inspires each one to understand the daily life of Pluralsight end users, guiding the design of a human-centered product from the ground up.
Under her leadership, Pluralsight successfully launched its technology learning platform in June 2016 and now–just one year later–serves more than 40% of Fortune 500 companies.
Mariah has spent her career teaching and advocating human-centered design. Before joining Pluralsight, Mariah served as the director of user experience design for Universal Mind, one of the largest independent digital agencies in North America. She also lead all user experience for AMC Health, and under her leadership, the company developed a remote patient monitoring software that connects with medical devices and clinical services.
Prior to that, Mariah served as a professor at Savannah College of Art and Design where she developed and directed graduate coursework focused on interdisciplinary collaboration and the integration of tangible design thinking on all levels of strategy, planning and management.
Mariah earned a bachelor’s in art at the College of Charleston and a master’s of fine art in industrial design from Savannah College of Art and Design. She continues to share her knowledge and passion for human-centered design by serving on the board of the Women’s Tech Council of Utah and actively mentoring aspiring designers.
She is the founder and co-organizer for Ladies that UX Salt Lake City Chapter and co-organizer for Product Hive, a community of product managers, strategists and designers that come together to learn, contribute and connect, through volunteer-led opportunities.
