Anthony Phills is a modern day Renaissance man, who has a zest for living and approaches life with an eye to the next big opportunity. He has the energy of the sun, but so firmly harnessed as to be focused and inexhaustible. Anthony dubbs himself a Creative Engineer, – a catch all title that encompasses author, visual storyteller, full stack designer, photographer, design evangelist, inventor, serial entrepreneur, and then some.
Anthony describes himself as a very passionate designer of the world, a reference to the fact that his work takes on elements of the many cities around the world that he’s travelled to, and resided in. His work is in effect, a mosaic of influences gathered during his travels and the experiences he’s had. He’s known for elegant, clean, bold and dynamic designs, that always depict movement – case in point, the Orange Calypso Icon that graces much of his work; and is His Brand.

Design has the power to change attitudes and give hope“
By nature Anthony is focused and not easily thrown off track; he acknowledges both his strengths and shortcomings, and moves on. He has a positive outlook on life and design, and via Design Tips, openly encourages designers to passionately embrace their creativity and push the envelope; create something never before seen or experienced. When asked what he does to relax, Anthony indicated that in addition to cooking, he practices design. He intimates that he has several ‘Little Black Books’ (and a few Orange ones) that he uses to capture big ideas and concepts as they come to him; and that he can often be found scribbling in his book, sketching, or tinkering with something.
Anthony Phills is an energetic, affable and very approachable man, who thrives on creativity – learning, doing, creating, and sharing knowledge. If you have occasion to engage him in conversation, grab the opportunity and brace yourself to be moved by his infectious enthusiasm. You’ll walk away mind blown, but thinking … time well spent!
Oh, and look for the touch of orange he’s always wearing …
