Brian Wood is known for his prowess as a master trainer in all things web related including web development, web & print technology and Adobe based products. Via Brian Wood Training, he offers web, live, and in-house training to individuals, small groups and a growing list of satisfied corporate clients. Over the 15 plus years that he has been in business, Brian has amassed an impressive body of work – books, videos, articles, webinars with CreativeLive.com, Lynda.com and a YouTube Channel. He is regularly invited to speak at conferences and seminars hosted by industry giants such as Adobe, AIGA and HOW.
Brian holds a degree in anthropology from Northern Illinois University, and was well into the coursework for a doctorate in paleontology when he had a change of heart. To make ends meet, he took a job at Eddie Bauer doing catalog work. During this time, he was asked by a friend to teach a class; at the end of the class he was approached by an Adobe employee who asked how he felt about teaching for Adobe – the rest is history.
Brian Wood hails from Chicago, but is now based in Raleigh-Durham, NC with his family. He is a man who knows who he is, and values what he has achieved. He places value on honesty and time, and shares that he finds tardiness and irresponsible behavior irksome. He is content with his life, and shares that if given the opportunity to do over the last decade, the only thing he would do differently is learn earlier in the game to trust himself and place less credence in popular opinion. Brian shares that notwithstanding the measure of success he’s gained professionally, meeting his wife and building their family is by far his greatest accomplishment. When he’s not about the business of learning or teaching, he enjoys playing basketball and tennis, and recently took up woodworking. He shares that his favorite thing to do with his six year old son is to play basketball, and that watching his son play in organized basketball tournaments is both hilarious and satisfying.

For all of his success, Brian remains humble and approachable, and maintains that although he excels at his vocation, it doesn’t define him, nor he does he derive his identity from it.

This Fall, Brian will travel to Charleston to discuss Designing and Prototyping Your Next App with Adobe Experience Design (Adobe XD), during his session for Revolve Conference at Sterling Hall, located in the Upper Historic District of the City of Charleston.
