In addition to being an articulate, approachable and fun-loving woman, Meena Kothandaraman is a highly respected Experience Strategist with more than 25 years of professional consulting experience in the areas of customer experience strategy and research.
Meena is passionate about studying customer realities and aspirations across product, space and service. She believes that the research process fosters inspiration, and that research itself acts as a conduit to organizations by providing inspiration to internal teams through real consumer stories and the practice of empathy. Throughout her research, she emphasizes the strategic value of balancing the needs of the people consuming the experience, with those creating it. Meena is part of twig+fish, a research and strategy practice based in Boston, MA that espouses these research philosophies, and is all about balance in the holistic sense.
In addition, to her responsibilities at twig+fish, Meena functions as a Lecturer at Bentley University, where she is a key contributor to the Human Factors in Information Design (HFID) graduate program. In her 16-year tenure, she has helped build the program in to one of the most successful of its kind.
Away from work, Meena is just as focused and equally engaged. She has authored a children’s book, is an accomplished musician in the South Indian Classical music style, and is a cooking instructor/show host. Although, it’s obvious that Meena cannot be accused of idleness, she practices everything she preaches about balance. Her singular focus on making her work and home lives successful on her own terms, has enabled her to have her cake and eat it too. (If you’re around Meena for any length of time, food and ‘happy juice’ will inevitably come up in conversation!)
On October 26, Meena will partner with Zarla Ludin to conduct an all-day Workshop on Designing (N)credible Research Studies for Revolve Conference at Sterling Hall.
