Rivers Pearce – the accomplished musician, attentive family man and consummate professional that one encounters today, is the product of the journey life has led him on.
After receiving a Philosophy degree from The College of Charleston in 2001, Rivers opted to make a living by relying on his skills as a musician (he is adept at both piano and guitar). He joined a band (Five Way Friday) and toured the United States extensively for five years.
By the time he settled in Atlanta, Pearce was ready for a change of pace, and eventually took a job that would launch his career in Search Engine Marketing (SEM). At 360i, a digital marketing agency, he worked his way up the ladder to manage Pay Per Click (PPC) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaigns for several notable Fortune 500 accounts.
Pearce then made his way back to Charleston in early 2010, and hired on at BoomTown! (an online real estate marketing platform), to jump start and lead their Search Engine Marketing department. Over the years, by making use of many agency best practices, he has helped scale BoomTown’s client base from 70 to over 1800 clients. He has served as their Director of Client Success, Director of Digital Strategy, and now serves as Director of Marketing.
As Director of Marketing at BoomTown, Pearce works alongside talented digital, event and product marketing experts, as well as with amazing writers and designers. Rivers’ team is tasked with championing the vision and value of BoomTown, generating website traffic and leads for BoomTown’s brand, and consulting with BoomTown’s 1800 + client base on digital marketing best practices.
At BoomTown, Rivers is devoted to equipping startups, small and midsized businesses with knowledge of the latest marketing technology. He hails such tools as email marketing, CRM, analytics, call logging, and social media as the ‘unsung heroes of contemporary marketing.’ Rivers is careful to ensure that martech users not only know how to choose, and use the appropriate tools, but that they are aware of, and embracing best practices to meet modern consumer expectancies.
Rivers Pearce, is passionate about what he does for a living, he appreciates and embraces the joys of family and fatherhood, all a positive consequence of “The long and winding road [that has] led him back to [Charleston’s] door.”
